Account Credentials, Credit Reports & Doc Forwarding Info

For GreenPointe to effectively dispute the negative items on your credit reports or negotiate an amicable debt settlement, we must have the correct Account Credential Information on file. Because, as the below statute notes, they are required by the credit reporting agencies.

Moreover, current copies of your three credit reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion are needed to evaluate your situation accurately.

Hence, below, you will find a list of acceptable forms of I.D. plus instructions on obtaining your credit reports and, once gathered, how you can fax, email/ PDF, or mail the document to our attention.

A. Account Credential Information

Under FCRA §610 (A) – Proper identification. A consumer reporting agency shall require, as a condition of making the disclosures required under section 609 [§ 1681g], that the consumer furnish proper identification. The disclosures required to be made under section 609 [§ 1681g] shall be provided under that section in writing.

Please send via Fax, Email/ PDF, or USPS one form of Account Credential Information from each category listed below.

1. SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER VERIFICATION

  • Photocopy of your Social Security card ( Preferred)
  • Photocopy of your pay stub displaying complete S.S. Number
  • Photocopy of your W-2

2. CURRENT PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

  • Photocopy of your Driver’s License ( Preferred)
  • Photocopy of your state-issued I.D.
  • Photocopy of your valid passport

3. ADDRESS VERIFICATION

  • Photocopy of your Utility Bill, Water, and Electric (Preferred)
  • Photocopy of your Bank or Credit Card statement
  • Photocopy of your Passport

B. Obtaining Your Credit Reports

Moreover, to accurately evaluate the work to be performed on your case, we also need to acquire from all three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) copies of your credit files.

The legislation allows individuals to obtain a free copy of their credit report from each credit bureau once per year. If you have not done so in the last 12 months, there are three simple ways to obtain them.

UPDATE: Starting in 2020, per the Equifax Data Breach Settlement, everyone in the U.S. can get 6 FREE credit reports per year through 2026 by visiting the Equifax website or by calling 1-866-349-5191. That’s in addition to the one free Equifax report (plus your Experian and TransUnion reports) you can get at AnnualCreditReport.com.

NOTE: Obtaining your credit reports through non-direct channels can produce unfavorable inquiries that can draw down your scores. Therefore, we recommend you use one of the five above methods to order your reports.

3. ADDITIONALLY…

The FACT ACT also requires Credit Reporting agencies to give you a free credit report if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • If a company or organization takes adverse action against you because of information found on your credit report.
  • If you are unemployed and plan to look for a job.
  • If you are on welfare.
  • If you have been turned down for credit in the last 60 days, you are entitled to a complimentary copy of your report at no cost. Also, if requesting a complimentary copy of the report, remember to include a copy of your denial letter; received within the last 60 days.

When requesting reports by mail, it is recommended that you send the correspondence certified. And to validate that the proper person is requesting the credit report, including copies of your driver’s license, social security card, bank statement, utility bill, etc.
